The Parallel Spelling Tests enable you to chart children's progress in spelling from Year 2 to Year 7. From the banks of sentences in which the items are presented, you can select twelve matched tests with no overlap, and many more with partial overlap. Norms are provided as spelling quotients for ages 6:5 to 12:11, and as spelling ages from 6 to 15 years.

The Parallel Spelling Tests require minimal preparation: the test words and contextualising sentences are easily selected, at random or according to a preferred set of spelling patterns if required. The extensive word banks also make the results less vulnerable to 'teaching to the test' and allow for easy retesting. Detailed advice on examining the results and learning from children's spelling errors is also provided.
