Edinburgh Reading Test 3
for ages 10:0 to 12:6

Administered in two sessions of 35-40 minutes per class, ERT3 provides for each pupil a reliable overall assessment of reading (giving norms as both standardised scores and reading ages), plus a diagnostic profile of four key subskills in literacy: sequencing, understanding facts and main ideas, understanding points of view, and vocabulary.
The ERT series has long been popular with class teachers as well as special needs and support teachers wanting more than just a simplistic, global measure of reading attainment. It has also proved popular for annual screening and standards monitoring.
The series comprises four overlapping tests (see below), each of which assesses a range of age-appropriate literacy skills (e.g. vocabulary, sequencing, comprehension of points of view, etc) and provides a diagnostic profile that will inform teaching throughout each year, and are not designed solely for end-of-year assessment.
PLUS now with Scorer/Profiler CD-ROM (view demo)providing:
- computerised diagnostic profiling for all four tests in the ERT series;
- comprehensive package of individual and group performance analyses.
The other tests in the series are:
- Edinburgh Reading Test 1 - for ages 7:0 to 9:0
- Edinburgh Reading Test 2 - for ages 8:6 to 10:6
- Edinburgh Reading Test 4 - for ages 11:7 to 16+
