Edinburgh Picture Test

This test of reasoning ability is for children aged between 6:6 and 8:3 and is particularly useful if non-readers or bilingual children are to be assessed. It can form part of a profile of children's achievement and can be used as a screening test to identify children with special needs.
The items use pictures and shapes, in place of the more usual words, to present the task, which is often of a similar type to those used in verbal reasoning tests for older children.
